I really do think its a boy...

We have not wanted to find out the gender of this baby, the element of surprise is so much more fun! But I have had an overwhelming feeling since the very beginning of pregnancy that this baby is a boy. It was just an inexplicable feeling-no dreams, no visions, no specific symptoms to explain it but it has been a strong feeling.
Later on in the pregnancy (in the 2nd trimester) I started to have symptoms that continued the boy theory:

  • MAJOR cravings for meat and protein-specifically beef, which I normally do not eat/want much of.
  • The belly is higher, which I have heard means boy. My belly with Luna was definitely lower.
  • I am much bigger this pregnancy, even though I started the pregnancy at the same weight as I was when I got pregnant with Luna. I have heard that boys make the mom bigger...
  • Someone in my midwives birth group did the "string over the belly test" and it said boy :)
  • I have heard that girls "add to the mother's beauty" and boys "take away from the mother's beauty". During my pregnancy with Luna my hair got thicker, my skin was clearer and I feel like I looked prettier and felt better throughout the pregnancy. In the first month of this pregnancy, a bunch of my hair fell out, my skin has had all kinds of itchyness and rash and I feel like a mess!
  • My appetite has been CRAZY! With Luna I had little to no cravings and ate about the same as I normally would have. This time, I have even had to wake up at night and eat, I have been ravenous.
  • People on the street have stopped me and told me that the baby in my belly was a boy! One man actually said that he was so sure it was a boy, that if we had a girl we should bring her back (to CVS where he works) and he would give us $100! He was that sure.

Either this baby is a BOY (a real man's man) or if it is a girl, she will be very strong or masculine in some way!

Such an exciting journey and we can't wait to find out!
